i would advise neither. drill your airbox and get a performance panel filter in it, and a few cold air feeds.

this thread is 2 years old :|

PVD are no more, they have ceased trading...

There BFO cone was just a re-branded Pipercross XL Filter

tbh they look stupidly big...

im about to buy one of those sl1x powertec ind kits (thats the one with the larger 8" diameter filter, like for cosworths) for £120 but i wont the loudest one possible for my 1.4i 16v. So, would i be better off with a pvd, like the one you lot keep on going on about.
if you dont know what im on about see the POTN website under powertec.

so ive heard as i have a sxi to mate and been looking into it! the best cone to go for is the pvd induction kit! this will give a much louder noise and engine tone! 16v are know not to produce as much noise as the 8v's but when it comes the the power and torque whos going to complain! if you want more performance a goo cold air feed or even a couple will be very handy as the cone dont work fully without a good sorce of cold air! also a heat shield will also be a goo investment (chromeones look nice and reverb the noise)

the two brackets just fit on the rear securing mounts for the original airbox

also, leving cruise is correct, small engined cars dont make that much noise due to the little amounts of air they suck

I've just fitted a PVD Cone on my 1.2 and it deffo sounds different to the normal box on there, not bothered by performance but looks and sound are good. A yes will be gettting either a back box or twin exit exhaust again mainly for looks. Only prob I had was there was no where to put the 2 brackets that come with the PVD Cone???

cant see why you'd want to spend money on anything other then a tailpipe on a 1.2

A PVD cone wont make a difference on your car im afraid... Induction kits in general sound shite on small engined cars. :( Explaining why your mates sounds better than yours.

Nuthin really you can do.. performance wise tho.. get a drilled airbox and PVD panel filter

K&N aren't known for being loud, if you want something load go for a Pipercross of PVD Cone like you said, the PVD will give you more noise but it is effectively a Pipercross under a different branding.

Hey Corsa folks, I have a Corsa B SXi (1.2 16v) and currently have a K&N cone air filter, with the standard cold air feed pipe. To be perfectly honest, I am seriously disppointed with it - very quiet, don't really do much and doesn't give the 'induction roar' it's supposed to.

Sure, I have a 1.2 16v engine, so induction noise is probably going to be quiet, but is there anyway I can get a little bit of noise/roar? More cold air feeds? My mate has an MG ZR 1.4 16v with a Pipercross induction kit, and that thing sounds RUDE. Really roars.

So - more cold air feeds? My Sebring exhaust system just drains any noise the induction kit makes. My K&N sort of 'whistles', that's about it... Or will a new induction kit make any difference - like a Pipercross or PVD cone? (www.pvdnet.co.uk)

Cheers for any help folks
