how do you spray the underside of the drum without repainting the entire wheel arch and half the rear wing?

put a bolt or two back in the drum and turn it till the patch you want to spray in on top...

better still remove the drum all together... it's only a couple of screws...

no even that, its one bolt. with a split pin in it. and it should only be done up hand tight.

Just nomral Hammerite, me car is blue so I used light blue hammerite then oversprayed it with normal can from the local car shopee

Kris TD - exactly what I did.....but I coated them in grease so when I sprayed they didn't get stuck in. Just wipe the grease off and the paint comes off with it.

stick two wheel nuts in the hub, take the handbrake off and rotate it, hardly rocket science.

This was something I was also wondering, I guess I will have to cover it all to avoid painting the wheel arch, has anybody done it?

Wabbit2k3, did you use any Hammerite in special or just plain one form B&Q

I sanded mine down, used Hammerite to undercoat it then sprayed the same colour as the car.

All done while the drum was still on the car. No problems at all.

Hi,

I have just fitted new alloys from the standard wheels and the rear drums look a bit old and rusty. Do I have to paint them? If so, do I have to remove the drum and sand it down and paint it or can you do it on the spot?

I bought a spraying can from Vauxhall with the same colour code as the car, shall I use that one?

I know that there is a similar post about it but doesn’t really cover this subject

Thanks and sorry for all the questions.
