Not true - the Midilite callipers are fully dust sealed - they also weigh about a tenth of a V6 calliper and stop the car on a sixpence. Rally Design will also supply then with compatible piston size for Corsa master cylinder.

Got my GTE calipers for £50 with pads & new seals & got 256mm discs fae TMS 4 just under £30. Stops well enuf for most applications! :! Fit straight on too, just remeber to use new washers when u change them as they only cost pennies and you brakes wont work well if they're leaking! V6 setup not too good for feel cos the weedy little servo cant handle displacing those massive pistons, pretty good chance u'll go staight off the road the first time you have to mash the anchors!

better pedal feel on the 256s tho.

As daimo said with the V6 setup, thats why i didnt get it.

v6 i think but the 16v ones wud be more economical to ur wallet, hich ever ones u prefer mate, ther both a good choice

Well i dont drive mad, mainly i was hoping to get a bit better stopping with better 'feel'. Due to being a student i dont have wads of cash to throw at the brakes, but would like to be able to notice the difference.
My main 2 options therefore are 256mm 16v brakes or 284mm V6 brakes. Which to get?????

go the full way its best to spend the money now on good brakes rather then havin to pay to get ur car pulled from a ditch when ur standard ones cok up.

with abs they wont look up so u mite aswell giv it a try.

My car has ABS already m8!

I dont really wanna spend more than £300 so , shud i get the V6 brake kit as its only £200 with vauxhall standard discs/pads, or spend £300 and get it with EBC Turbo Groove Discs??

easiest and most suited way wud be an astra ge setup.

next is the all to well known v6 conversion.

then as u said wilwoods big brake kit.

but the KING if u want huge brake then get shy automotives kit by winner pro.
6 pot calipers,300 mm discs and braided lines. but it does cost 1000 quid. and wud probly mess up ur braking eg.locking the wheels at high speed(unless u get abs)

Dont go wilwood. Exposed pistons that get clogged up by dirt easily. V6, master cylinders arn't good enuff on the corsa.

I'd say loot at the Hi-Spec Caliper kit. 285mm kit is about £450 i think. OR if u can afford it, go for the 300mm kit, but thats about £650 :(

hi-spec are meant to be good, 285 discs and billet 4 pots. £560 tho eek!!

I just got the 256mm discs and GTE calipers from V-tunning, £140. Will do for now. :)

Yeah i had heard that, my pedal feels quite soft already, and i have Dot 5 fluid and Braided hoses. Can u get 16v Kits new then??

Gambit

go for an astra GSI setup

V6 is overkill for a corsa, and you also get a soft brake pedal

AdiSRI

posted on 5th Jun 03 at 12:01

I am gonna do some bits to the engine (not a conversion tho), but im used to being in cars like Evo 6 etc... and my car just feels like it has no brakes LOL
I just want better brakes for me, also gota be safer if u can stop faster in any circumstance no matter wat engine u have???

I currently have 236 x 20mm vented discs on my 1.4 SRi and am thinking of making the change to 284mm Discs with V6 Callipers HERE.
Is this worth my while and the cost??
Pros and Cons??

Would it be better to go for a WilWood 4-Pot calliper setup which contains THIS CALIPER and 286x21mm Grooved Discs??
