Its cheaper for me to insure a 1.2 16V than it is for a 1.2 8V. But what the hell a 1.4 16V is coming my way soon.

cheapest to insure surely has to be a 1993 1.2i 8v merit. its the cheapest corsa you can buy, only has 4 gears and a shit engine. I recon with pass plus (-48%) you could insure it on norwhich union for about £600. My 95 LS 1.2i is about £700 maybe a bit less to insure.

not so true as i had a 1.0 corsa breeze as a courtesy car while my corsa C 1.2 16v club was in the garage and i rung my insurance company up and they sed that the breeze was a higher insurance grouping than my own more powerfull and newer car!weird

THE MERIT ONLY HAS 4 GEARS

RichR

I would imagine the 1.2 8v merit, with 4 gears, no mfd etc etc as in the very bottom of the range merit
