mine is lowered 60mm on 17s and it doesnt rub. think about it thhis way. the wheels might be bigger but the tyre is smaller so in effect 17s with 205/40 tyres are the same size as 14s with a 185/60 tyres which are standard on corsa sports etc anyway. just make sure they are et45 offset

If your having 17's with 205/40 tyres then you dont want ET49 wheels as they will rub against the suspension, you want around ET45 should get a 40mm drop fine, if you wanna carry more people than just front passengers then you will have to debolt your rear arches but ET45 shouldnt give you many problems, I am on ET45 15's with a 60mm drop and can carry 5 people in the car and not get rubbing.

they will be fine just debolt the arches - take the arches off and glue them back not bolt them back on

id say youll have no problem with 40mm as long as theyre ET49, although if u want a few people in the back u might wanna take the screws out that hold the plastic arch on. Just did the front arches for mine today (17s, -60mm, et49) WHAT A PAIN IN THE ASS!!!! no more rubbin tho. :D

i lowered mine 40mm.and i had a little trouble with rubbing on the front around bends i just trimmed back the metal a 1/2" and took the lip off the plastic trim took all but 2 bolts off on each trim and added some glue to keep the things on seems ok now
