Getting the power down with Turbo Corsas is an art in itself. Managing to keep traction whilst not spinning the wheels in every gear is extremely hard. Once its going though, not much can beat it, hence the 13.9 1/4 mile. Gathers speed very quickly.

After how many attempts though? :P

Craig pcg clocked a 13.9 1/4mile in his 2.0ltr turbo corsa so it cant be that bad for traction?

Sound better
Perform better (in the corsa)
Sound better
sound better sound much much better

Also, delivering the power of a turbo in the corsa is terrible. Wheels are still trying to spin in 4th in the phase 1/2? 270bhp conversion.

Been in a 250bhp 2.1 16v on TB and
280bhp 2.0litre turbo.

What would have won? TB motor would have obliterated the turbo without fail.

C20LET with F28 (with phase 3 tuning and some QUAIFE bits)

=

Top speed of 280kmh
5.3 sec 0 to 100kmh
14.5 sec 0 to 200kmh

1.6 would be better for handling + decent power but the 2.0 turbo is always going to be quicker throw 3-4k at it and it's a 350bhp phase 3.5 beast but if you want fun drivable cheap corsa get a c20xe in there....

i'm with Cybermonkey24, he knows the score, u can't believe everything u read, and people speculate too much........

in 2020 there gonna be a 1.1 turbo made by vauxhall to go in the vauxhall norborgix, 340bhp from a 1.1.
Should i use that engine in 17yrs time?

irmscher have done psycho engined cars before, none of which ever came into production.

No wrong, thats what you heard from mattyb. No one can be sure what the UK spec will be until vauxhall release details on the car. Everything so far is just rumours. Irmscher are bring a 2.0 Turbo Corsa C to PV show, but it might just be a modified version. Time will tell.

new GSi isnt a 1.6 damio its a 2.0 pushing 202 bhp.

thats inside news from vauxhall itself

The new GSi isnt out yet, and details are still sketchy. Could you imagine trying to put a Corsa C engine into a Corsa B? You would need a first class honours degree in electrical engineering to get round that one! The 20LET is even heavier, and will cause massive understeer, which in the wet is about as much fun as stapling your cock to your arse cheeks.

New GSi :P

However, Dave is right about the conversion. 2.0litre 16v is much more fun than a turbo. Bit heavy on the front end though :(

There is no such thing as a standard 1.6 turbo engine from vuxhall anyway. Any one-off turbo for the X/C16XE engine will be unreliable and prone to failure. The C20LET from the Cavalier/Calibra is designed for a large heavy car. The 20LET is pointless in a corsa, it wheelspins in 1st, 2nd and 3rd, which isnt much fun when you are forking out for new tyres every 3 months. The 2.0 turbo conversion is expensive, but the only effective way at the moment of getting reliable turbo power in a corsa. You are much better off going for the 20XE engine from the Astra GTE, cavalier GSi or Calibra 2.0 16v.

What a stupid question.

The Let is always going to be quicker if unlimited money is thrown at it.

What do you want? BHP per £££

Whats your budget?

Who would do the work?

What will you do to the 1.6 engine? low comp pistons etc?

Basically you could easily make the 1.6 turbo more powerful than a standard let if you spend enough money on it.

hey there folks i am considering doing some serious mods to my corsa and i just wondered what your suggestions were on the performance between a 2.0 turbo and a 1.6 turbo conversion in a corsa b (which is the fastest) and what type of price difference are we looking at which is going to cost more etc?....cheers folks
