I think the above is THE Most common fault with engines in Corsa's! I'd say it could either be air-flow meter, idle control stepper motor or Throtle position sensor...

No I was just going along the motorway one day and my car suddenly lost power for a second and developed a flat spot in acceleration around 2krpm in all gears. The engine manegement light came on all the time and it started idling crazy from then on too.
I kinda knew something like that was gonna happen tho, it'd stuggled to accelerate at 2krpm (usually after a gear change or coming off lights etc) once or twice before, but I wasn't expecting it to just suddenly go like it did!

All is sorted now tho.

all the air flow meter is for to tell the ECU how much air is being taken in. its job is to record air, so having any amount or air forced into it is what its there for, no matter how much there is.......

put it back on m8ty the mechanic is talkin bollox

with fittin a KnN filter the manufactor can not void your warrenty even thow u have modded your car (so to say) so if fittin one was to fuk the car up why would this happen

one u fit the induction kit reset the ECU, did u do that? An induction kit wouldnt cause that to fail, but to get best peformance you need to reset the ECU.

Would my induction kit cause my air flow metre to fail and need replaced?
My dad and a local mechanic both said this could be what caused the problem.
I fitted a new air flow metre last night and my car's running as normal again, but with standard airbox on now.
Dunno if I should put the induction kit back on incase it makes the air flow meter problem to happen again, if you know what I mean.

What do you think? :o
