It's been fine with me mate, been on for 6 weeks now, and had the pre-release one on for about 2 months before that. Still haven't sorted a proper cold air feed out yet, but will do soon. Doesn't seem to hamper the performance yet though TBH.

Yeh that's the bit .

So ok Cool , thanks every1 .

Trotty, how is your cone on ur SXi ? Do you have any sort of cold air feeds to it or does it work nicely without them?

I may possibly want to get a cone for mine, but all these stories on them creating odd random problems keeps putting me off :boggle: !

Thats the BFO cone from PVD - it sounsd sweet  :D

And yesh, I'd keep the mesh in place too, jsut in case.

whats that cone sound like? if you are running a cone I'd keep the mesh in place, Filtration of some cones is poor

You mean...

The bit just after the cone yeah.

err the mess is there to protect it, even though all air must run through the air filter anyway, just VXL being ultra carefull i'd imagine

if you run a third party engine management since as mbe, dta, omex, etc etc you don't need a AMM, it uses a throttle pot instead.

oh right, cool thanks

Why is it full of thick mesh though ?

Its an airmass meter and you need it to run the car

I was having a look at it yesterday, and disconnected the big pipe from the airbox, (the main pipe that feeds the air to the engine ? whatever that's called ?)

Anyway, there was this pipe thing attached to the end shaped like a 'T', and it was full of like a wire honeycome material. And inside that was this little sensor of some sort with some wires going off somewhere.

Surely this is a Huuuuuuuuuuggggggggeeeeeee restriction? What does it do?? Does it just monitor how much oxygen is going into the engine??? :boggle: .

If a bolt-on filter was fitted, does it fir onto this 'sensor' thing, or do you take the sensor thing off and connect it directly to the pipe ?

Cheers
