i (and assume snowy) mis-read how the spec was to be interpreted. i read it quickly as the sub being available with dual 1ohm, dual 2ohm or dual 4ohm coils.

Now i see what it says! No wouldnt work!

yes like TOMAS said it wont work properly in the details above the specs for the sub should read:

Audio Bahn - AUD-AW1505Q

15" Ultra excursion subwoofer

180oz double stacked strontium magnets
1000w RMS, freq response 20hz-700hz
efficiency 94.8db, bolt tight motor structure
foam surround, laminated glass fibre
composite pulp cone
3" 4 layer ASV voice coil,
dual 2 ohm voice coils
1ohm or 4 ohm operation modes

AND

the Alpine MRD-M1000 will only give 500w RMs with a 4 Ohm load and will not drive a 1 Ohm load, so its no good for this sub.

The above stated sub woofer will not work correctly with the above listed amp. You must get the sub in either a dual 1ohm, dual 4ohm coil or single 2ohm configuration and wire the dual coils to show the amp 2ohms.
Let me know what you think to that alpine amp once you get it, i may be buying one in the near future. Sounds like a heavy system and ive always liked single sub set-ups.

Damn you beat me to it:lol:

As corb has already said, that will work fine mate. cant remember which would be better to get. The dule 1 or dule 4?? One is meant to be better. I think its the 1's.

Yeah, just get the dual 1 or dual 4 ohm config. and wire it in series/parellel accordingly, to show the amp a 2ohm load.

Ok this is what im thinking of getting,

1x Audio Bahn - AUD-AW1505Q

15" Ultra excursion subwoofer

180oz double stacked strontium magnets
1000w RMS, freq response 20hz-700hz
efficiency 94.8db, bolt tight motor structure
foam surround, laminated glass fibre
composite pulp cone
3" 4 layer ASV voice coil,
dual 2 ohm, 1ohm or 4 ohm operation

1x Alpine - MRD-M1000

V12 AccuClass - Digital Amp

1000w x 1 RMS @ 2 Ohm
Variable LP Cross over

Currently i have a

Alpine CDA - 9812RB MP3 Head Unit

with

Alpine SXS - 1757 6 1/2 Front Components
Alpine SPS - 690A 6x9's

both of the above running off the headunit its self.

I have no sub or amp yet so i am hoping the above will work well together,

I plan on making the build my self as my dad is class at carpentry so should'nt be to much of a problem.

Also if the above amp and sub will work well together can you give me some advice on wiring kits i should look at.

Thanks in advance

Pete.
