I did this a number of years ago myself and the engine didn't like it much. It will run and drive but was definitely down on power compared to when I changed to an X16XE ecu

The mate had an x16xe and told me someone gave him an x14xe ECU. The engine hit the limiter at like 4 or 5k.

I did this a few years ago, the x16xe ran on the x14xe ecu but it had flat spots and misfired occasionally, I swapped it for a 16xe ecu set and it ran fine

Hi all

just wondering I currently have a x14xe engine but want to upgrade to the x16xe. If i was to put the x16xe engine in would I have to change the ecu too.

I've had mixed responses but I'm looking for a final answer.

Thank you all.
