i took it all out. i used 1.6 8v driver side engine mount and vauxhall astra 1.6 drive belt tensioner. i took all air con out and it was just little hole left under the battery tray but not hard to sort out.

if your taking the box out behind the glove box you'll need to plate over two holes where the non a/c models have the screen wash bottle and get the bracket from a non a/c for the pollen filter
iirc you can get that box out without removing the dash, theres a very awkward to get to screw under the battery tray holding it in along with a few others i think, been that long since i pulled one out

Yeah I know I used to have a x16xe before.... Well I've had loads! Haha I never had one with ac before and they are a pain! no room at all I'm planning on moving my battery to the boot for more space :) and then tidy up the wiring

Yeah, that's how I did it.
Literally took the pipes back to just behind the battery and capped them off with I think a 15mm and a 10mm push fit stop end. Did the job and they aren't even visible.

With the AC and SAI all gone the amount of space in the engine bay for generally working now is great

Yeah I'm just going to take off the stuff at the drivers side and leave whatever's at the glovebox area just don't want the engine using power for the ac unit, cheers for the reply :)

Check my project thread from when I removed the AC from my x16xe.

That said, I didn't remove the condenser as I believe you need the dash out and will be left with holes to cover over.
I just capped off the pipes leading into the engine bay as it would stay watertight and the dash hadn't long been out.

But you will need a non-ac auxiliary belt and the bracket from a non-ac corsa or tigra.
Swap them over and you're good to go on that bit.

Up to you how much else you remove, but here's the ac rad, pipe work and condensing unit.

Page 29 might help.

Hello,

Right can someone tell me what all is needed to remove the ac and also can someone show me a pic of the bracket needed my car has power steering also so can that stay on or does that need to come off? If it comes off will it affect the steering other than making it stiff? also how do you add pictures I've no idea how.
