Do a compression test on all 4 cylinders and post the results they should all be similar not more than 10psi out.

Can anyone help diagnose if my head gasket has gone. My Corsa 1.6 16v is smoking quite a bit. The smoke is white and I have lost a bit of water. I let the engine warm up until the fan kicked in and there is still smoke coming out of the exhaust. If I remove the header tank cap there is a little bit of smoke/steam coming out of it. My breather is also smoking which I have put into a lucozade bottle (budget catch tank) which is collecting water.
I'm planning to do an engine swop but not for a few months.
