I was under the impression that in 97 vauxhall had lotus help design the suspention for the New Sport models as the old models i.e. the gsi, had a reputation for bad handeling. Hence the new sport and sxi models had the phrase "lotus tuned suspention" in the list of specs.

The Sri and Sport both came with the same suspension as the GSi. The other models all used similar suspension, with larger shock absorbers.

In the Haynes Max Power manual for Corsas, it says that the 1.4SRi and Sport have GSi suspension. Hope that helps :D
