pleased to repory new earth from battery done the trick, thanks for tip

my theory is that the machine screw is not a good conductor hence the failure of the earth point

Im not 100% sure but on alot of the VAg stuff you have to re-adapt the throttle position if its been removed for cleaning etc. Tend to get near the same codes as you have if you dont. Id be looking into that before doing anything else

Does sound like a current draw issue, same type of symptoms as if the battery is flat and the starter can't draw enough current.

Cleaned all the earth points and the ones where they attach to the engine with WD40 and some sandpaper. Then ran a earth wire from the ECU earth to the Negative on the battery.
(The ECU is located to the right of the throtle body, the earth is the single black wire attached to the top of the ECU)
Now its starting fine with no clicking.
Problem must have been that the earth connections were dirty and corroded.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Im new to this forum and wondered if anyone can help?

I have a problem starting my corsa from cold (ie if it is left overnight) The throttle body is buzzing and clicking along with the two purple relays in the fuse box. The engine management light flickers as this clicking is going on.

After about 10 trys I can usually get it started. It will also bump start.

Once I have it started it will start 100% of the time. (maybe because it is primed with fuel?)

I did the pedal error test and it comes up with error P1562 which is...

P1562 Throttle Position Adaption C-09
P1526 Throttle Position no Adaption C-09
P1526 Limp Home Adaption Error C-09
P1526 Lower Limit Adaption Error C-09

Put a new battery on it. Cleaned and checked the battery earth wire checked the ignition barrel wires and starter motor wires. Its almost as if the clicking is preventing the engine being primed with fuel?

It cant be an immobilizer problem as it is the light with the car and spanner that flashes when the transponder is disconnected.

I have posted some videos on Youtube to show what the car is doing.

Noise from throttle body:-
http://youtu.be/9xWyGxuXips

Engine light flickering (Usually flickers more than this when it isnt working)
http://youtu.be/10AzS1igr9I

These videos are taken after turning the key to position II. When I turn to position III the starter motor turns the engine over but cylinders are not firing.
