read any post on this forum regarding uprating suspension and most people will agree that adding spings to standard vauxhall suspension will degrade the quality of the ride.

adding 35-40mm lowering springs no matter what make will reduce the life of the shocks, also if u want to drive around with mates in the car theres a very large chance that the prings will hit each other (coils) while under load and a large possibility that the shocks will bottom out.

Not only that but the ride becomes very bumpy/bouncy on anything other that flat roads.

Anyway Kris TD thought the Corsa Diesels had uprated shocks compared to standard corsas anyway? therefore surly they would cope alot better with lowering springs??

what a load of sh1t, i had 35mm lowering springs in my car for 3 years, the handling shat on what it was before i put them on, it passed 3 mot's and it didnt screw the shocks. and to be honest the ride is better than uprated shocks. ive had so many suspention kits on my car its untrue. handling wasnt as good as a whole kit but the ride was certainly better,.

not fitted yet i need 200 quid for tyres there astra wheels of an sxi

i read in an earlier post ud bought some alloys for the car? have u got em fitted? if so m8 any pics?

that settles it im gonna save up some more cash an get it lowered

i have heard alot of problems with the g-max kit, but i was told by a m8 that the main problem with these suspension are the top mount (have no idea what this is) that is suppild with the kits are useless and its best keeping the original vauxhall one thats all ready holding the suspension on to the car. (dunno if this is right but im sure someone will correct me) :D

i used to have Apex suspesion on the old corsa and never had any problems with it (but i got uprated bushes at the same time), it gave a reasonably well balanced ride and wasnt to harsh either.

for the money i dont really think theres much better.

i did think g-max but everyone says there crap

so get apex kit then

U can also fail mot if the srings fall out...

save up and go for the suspension m8, springs are naff and really impare the handling (specially wich m8's in the car).

I f u shop around u should find apex 35-40mm suspension kit for £200 id suggest while ur at it to uprate the bushes to polyurathane (should give u a stiffer more refined ride) :thumbs:

i have a limited budget
but i want to lower my car 40mm

will a spring kit be ok?
or will i need a full kit? shocks n springs

i want it to handle better but not so bumpy that it screw's with my cd player
