The spi and mpi head are interchangable. Just inlet back are needed. Cs21 go look at the 1400 spi bhp compared tothe 1400 mpi bhp, then go find a bhp upgrade like that for sub £100 on any other engine.

DO NOT waste any time or money trying to tune the SPi 8v engine.

it be cheaper for me to go 8v as can get parts cheap as cos got a mate who races the 1.3/1.4 and his is running at 92bhp with standard inlet custom made exhaust manifold lightweight flywheel and a ported head and might be having my dads 1.4 8v engine out of his astra as its going to scrapy at the end of the year

There are a few things you can do to tune them...but I've read you're looking at spending around £2000 for about a 25bhp increase, so only about 85bhp in total. Good exhaust system, cams, different head etc.

Better off putting the MPi setup off an sri on it.

is it true if a put a 1.3 head off a nova sr on to a 1.4 spi block it will be running more bhp than a stardard 1.4 8v spi |
