i dont think this amp is 300wrms @ 4ohms.
on www.cel-direct.com it says the following:
1 x 600 Watts Max, 1 x 150 Watts RMS @ 4 OHM, 1 x 300 Watts RMS @ 2 OHM

if i can run this sub at 2ohms then this amp should be fine other wise i may have to get the MRD500

my sub is the type r 1240 not 1241D. so its not the dual voice coil.
my sub can do 300wrms/1000max
at the moment im using a stereo amp (MRV-T707) bridged. 600max so maybe its hitting 300wrms, but i got a feelin its only about 200wrms

Get the 300... I have it powering my single 12" Pioneer and it creams all over it (OK, it's a shit sub, but it's loud)....

And you don't have to bridge it, god knows what that's all about - it's a mono-channel amp anyway.

The 300 will supply 300w RMS @ 4ohm no problem - I think the new Accu-D class amps are under-rated anyway (read it somewhere).

And with them being class D, they shouldn't get too hot (mine never runs about 35 deg. C), even at 2ohm.

cheers

so theorectically it would be better for me to get the mrd 500? not 300?!?
if i catch your drift then its always better to use an amp that has a higher rms rating than the subs rms rating. this way the amp doesnt need to go into overdrive. for example...

alpine sub 300rms use....
an amp with 300rms or higher
but not exceeding the max on the sub.

if that is the case how will i know how much gain is safe and how much will be too much?

No Kris the amp he's talking about gives out its most power saftly at 4ohms, you have to bridge the two channels. Dont go below 4 ohms with those alpine amps - ive experimented in the past and they can take it but tend to shut down pretty quick cos they get RED hot it aint worth risking.

Quite a few of the lads over in the states used to run their Alpine T1507's at a two ohm load, it does have a built in fan to aid cooling and gives out a fecking lot of power but they soon burnt out, none lasted longer than about 8 months!

Now the new alpine MONO DIGITAL amps give out their most power at 2 ohms so if he was to show a 4ohm load to the amp that he wants (D300) its a waste of time... he will have to change his sub/s so he can get a 2ohm load to be shown to the amps to get best power and value for money.

Each of my D500 amps has a 2ohm load so gives the Type R 12's (300wrms each) approx 500wrms each!! They can take it, just have to turn the gains down a fraction from optimal but that gives you a seriousley clean signal for the big hits which is a great bonus.

If we're talking Alpine... ask me... most of their kit is or has been in my car at one point LOL (SWELL HEAD ME!)

my sub is rated at 300rms, 1000max @ 4ohms.
the amp is only 600max so i dont think it will be more than 200rms.
sooo
i'm considering gettin a new one, the MRD-D300.
i know that this amp runs at 300rms and 600max.
will it be okay? won't blow it will it? im asking cos its a mono block anf i font have any experience will mono blocks.
cheers

shouldnt you have a 2 ohm sub if your only running one off one amp?

Yes you would but watch the gains and get the correct coil configuration... im running two trpe r's each with an M500 its more than the stated RMS but ive never burn a speaker out from too much rms, just make sure its perfectly clean...

I recommend 0.9 cube foot sealed for each, thats from trial and error with mine but every install is different...
