its because the the engine is pumping too much petrol too fast, as not all the components are up and running 100%...give it about 10-15 seconds before moving away, let the oil move around and all bits to start etc.

i had this problem i think, the engine management light cums on and off straight away doesnt it as the car cuts out, my problem was the distributor, but cud also be the coil or coil unit if not the basics

have u checked the basics? spark plugs/leads/air filter (maybe needs claening). If they are ok maybe its a sensor in the engine? if thats the case it'll need to go on a diagnostic machine to tell u. :boggle:

Right, other day I was sat in a car park talking to a mate. He started his car up to go and reved his engine, so I did the same, I did it from an idle tick over, planted my foot to the floor, car spluttered so I took my foot off and put it back on, spluttered again and then cut out.

I dont get any Engine management light come on other than when it stalls but it goes straight back off.

Any ideas??

Cheers,
Sean.
