That does sound more like the internals, particularly if first and fifth are lined up OK.

But I thought you can normally hold the gear in if its the linkage? Its impossible to hold it, it forces your hand away.

The linkage could be stopping it locking into gear properly. I'd do the linkage first too

Right, this isn't about a Corsa but you chaps are pretty handy with any kind of mechanics to be honest.

My punto goes into every gear, apart from 3rd. It will go into it but if you try and accelerate, even just the tiniest bit, it jumps out, you cant hold it in, it just forces its self out.
Would you say this is due to linkage or internals for 3rd gear??

I really think its internals but the garage want to replace the linkage first to make sure its not that?!
Surely the linkage wouldn't make it jump out of just one gear like that?

Please help! I need my bloody car back!
