there is 4 tubes on either side of the sunroof mechanism these are probably blocked

Could try using boiling water around the sill.

Open the sunroof, use a sponge and hot water and go around the sill, then close the sunroof straight away and leave.
The idea is that the rubber sill expands then cools once the sunroof is closed making a water proff sill.

It's worked for me in the past, worth a go and won't cost anything but a few mins of your time

im not worried about it for now, what about in 5 or 6 months time? just cutthe sealant?

If you're not bothered about having it, you could seal it up with silicone.
