Report back how you get on.

The symptoms you are getting would lead to it being the ICV, but normally once its stuck its like that till you clean it, which wouldn't explain why its fine after about 5 mins.No harm in trying though as it does sound icv related.

Sounds like ICV (idle control valve) to me.

My needle on the rev counter moves up and down when the car is stationary some times and from cold the engine revs up and down and almost stalls if i try and move it then revs quite high not to stall itself.

I saw a thread a few weeks ago but i can't find it now saying that the tps was the issue for the rev counter to do what it does i was wondering would this also make the engine do what it does?

After about 5 minutes the engines happy as a larry so should i just give the connections a clean?

EDIT: CTS got changed for a new one on the rebuild :)
