When was the last time it had an oil change??

That would be my 1st port of call tbh.

That stuff posted above is a load of shite, waste of money.

Hence why I posted the treatment :P Plenty on here use it for their xe's with good results. For A fiver its worth a try surely before taking all the cams out etc? Especially if its not too loud

Unfortantly yes, Cambelt off, Cams out.

Unless its a proper loud tapping, It wont be worth the cost.

^What rubbish.

Is it a tapping noise yeah?

If so, lifters as said But taking them out, draining them fully and checking they are all in good condition is best imo. Replacing worn ones with Genuine GM items.

Or spend a wad and replace them all with GM items, Don't bother with cheapo replacements.

Probably the lifters rather than the cams Mark. Could try some hydraulic lifter treatment? :)

My car has always had a little cam shaft rattle when its ticking over and when you press the throttle gently but goes off when its revved a little harder.Any ideas what is the best way to sort it?is it just a matter of replacing the cams?
