dont see why you cant use Vaux switches, a switch is a switch, it does the same thing no matter who its made by! ;)

Has anyone fitted a microscan window kit? Can you use standard vaux switches to replace the ones that come in the kit?

I bought all the wires, switches and the motors fro £45 - which I think is abargain. £60 including shipping as it was a huge heavy box which was fair.

Parts have VSPC tippexed onto them. Came from a 94 Sport.

the wiring has different connctors for the CL, but this simply means soldering my new connectors onto the older wiring harness.

If you fancy gitting mine go ahead :) The kits still sat in the big heavy box in my garage :(

Hmm Think i might go for it. How much has all the stuff cost you to convert it? I thik its better being able to wire it myself, as i can have a permanent live to the motors, and an ignition live to the illumination. Standard wiring pisses me off, cause you cant open close the windows unless the ignitions on.

Cheers anyway mate :)

If you have the wiring its plug and play. You may need a relay for the electric mirrors and the fuses for the windows (17 an 28) but if you have the wiring in the car yu need:

Motors
Switches
Door Wiring
New plastic bits for dor to house switches

If you DON'T have the wiring in the car you have to fit the lives, earths, and stuff between the doors - including stuff tothe ignition and fuse box and bettery etc.

It isn't that bad but you need a bit of knowledge and a Haynes wiring diagram to do it - I don't have the confidence of not burning my car down trying it.

If you dont have the loom (I dont), what do i need to do to convert to electic windows? Do the cars with the loom just have a power supply already there?

Basically i just want to know what ive gotta get to convert to E/W's :D

God damn I'm so jealous! I wish mine had the wiring in - I'd have had elecric windows three weeks ago!

Right, I've just been informed from someone who knows...

I have 19 wires in my multi pin connector, but no wires in the door side. So I need a new loom, 2 motors, the buttons and the door cards. All you need to do then is remove the existing wiring loom and connect the new one up - simple! I will see how much the local scrappy wants for those bits.

I've got them wired up in the dor pockets, but need my Electric windows in to pinch the live from to operae them. The ciruitry works fine, but I've got to get me windws sorted beofre Therey on for real - and that looks a long way off yet.

Best offer by far for the window fitting is From bolton which I'm really considering as my best option! Nobody roundme is interested in fitting the wiring for me :(

I'll keep you all posted!

Thanks for your help.

Look!

Open up the multi-plug between the door and the car and count how many wires you have,

alternatevely, take the kick panel off where the ECU is and count the wires in the loom there.

If you have mirrors you would have probably got window wires too, but mine has CL and nothing else in the loom.

Does anyone know if the 1999 SXi model came with wiring for electric windows? It has electric mirrors and central locking and I think there is only two wiring looms, one for e/w e/m c/l and one without.

Cheers!
