what engine is it? 1.0 & 1.2 ecu are in the engine bay, mounted under the inlet manifold, 1.4 upwards have them mounted in either the driver or passenger kick pannel inside the car ( cant remeber which side). its a couple of bolts holding them down and conectors just flick on and off. transponder would be a little more fiddly, have to remove the cowlings from around the steering column. should just be screwed or clipped into place around where the ignition barrel is.

chip is a peice of piss. flick the key open with a screwdriver

If in doubt, buy or borrow a haynes manual

Fuck me. I've never changed any of those parts before. Easy?

probably cheaper to buy an ecu, chip and transponder from a parts offered thread on here

Ahh that explains it then. I threw my keys in anger and doing so that little button came off. So vauxhall it is then for a new chip to be put in the key? Muchos? :|

start by checking the chip is still inside the key. then maybe move on to check the wiring at the transponder

What do I do to fix that then?

immobiliser scott  It will be something to do with either the ecu, transponder or key chip

Never knew they could flash?

Anyway, I've left my car stood now for about a year, go to start it every other week or so, but I've left it for about 2 months now, went to start and the eml was flashing and now it won't start. It goes to start but the just cuts out? It hasn't been touched since the last time it was running!

Help! Ta
