i got an autoleads connector, quick release so i can take the shelf out without undoing the connections at the speakers. got the hinges on and it sits in fine, needs a little bit more work before im happy though :)

i had an MDF parcel shelf in my fiesta. i used 10mm MDF and it supported my kenwood 6907s without problem. i couldnt be arsed makin another parcel shelf so i just cut the original corsa shelf. holds up fine, no bending but the sound quality isnt as great and the shelf wont lift up as its too heacy, it actually holds the boot lid down!!

To get the shelf to sit at the right level, i cut 8mm deep square into the shelf to put the clips in. Difficult to see with the carpet on tho.

Mines hinged.

I used 15 or 18 mm thick wood. To make it hinged, i took the original ones off the original shelf and cut them in.

Will take a pic in a bit, make it easier to explain.

Another tip, after you cut your speaker holes, cover these with a pair of old tights b4 u put ure carpet over, stops it from shaggin down the speaker holes.
