Idle Control Valve I'd say, I used to have a 1.2 16v and found if I disconnected it after switching the ignition on and then started it, it would idle like that, handy for warming it up quicker in the winter before I left work :lol:

Easy way to check it would be revving it slightly from under the bonnet and then trying to push the ICV back in and see what happens, whether it moves etc.

yeah, is ur eml on ? dont think theyre expensive but the car that was in my garage sounded EXACTLY the same. easy job to do aswel

i had a 1.2 with an eratic idle, turned out it was blowing at the gasket between the exhaust manifold and the cat. Lambda sensor wasn't getting the correct reading

i had a corsa which sounded just like that at my work, it turned out to be egr valve

video of what happens very strange when it drops below 1500 rev's it backfires like hell now when ts iding ... anyone help??
