	The pins inside the barrel can be swapped so it matches your key. I've had it done but left it to a locksmith my mate knows.

	cheers for that, ill get myself a new barrel then, i did know they came off but i never knew how, iirc you can alter the internals of the barrel to your old key? ill have to see what i can do... better get a few spares because no doubt i will ruin a few trying to do it

Same happened to me. Get a second hand barrel from a scrapyard. You can remove the barrel by putting the key in the barrel and turning it to position 1 iirc. Then on then on the side of the barrel facing the clocks there is a little hole to put an allen key in which releases the barrel. Remove the snapped part of the barrel out of the ignition switch. Then fit the new barrel.
