TBH I think he meant tune as it wasnt running right, not that he wanted to mod it.

With engine tunning you always start with the same thing and thats a performance air filter and a full exhaust system. No other mods will work to there full potential without a performance filter or a performance exhaust. Pipercross or K&N are popular choices, Pipercross being the most efficiant at flowing air - i.e. better, the K&N being the louder. As for an exhaust, you can't really go wrong with a Magnex but the better choice is a custom job, then you can have it more free flowing and a slightly bigger bore. A de-cat for your exhaust is always a good thing, makes the exhaust more free flowing and gives a good boost in the sound department :)
Once these are sorted its all about what sort of money you want to spend. A good idea I find is to look through Max Power/Redline/Fastcar etc. and find a high powered version of your car and read the spec list and then look into the mods listed - see what they cost and what performance to expect.
All in all the best bet is to bang a 2.0L engine in. Instant, bullet proof 160Bhp with loads of tunning potential. You could sell your engine for whatever (£200/£300/£400?) then depending on who puts the engine in and what you pay for another engine it will cost around £900/1200 (don't forget, minus whatever you get for your original engine). With the 2.0L 16v you've got an instant 15 seconds car - it'll beat VTS's, 106 GTi's etc.

depends what ya mean mate, get it stuck on a rolling road and they will tune it and set it all up so that your mods work better together. PTS in Luton charge about 110 quid for it and they know what they are doing, i wont go anywhere else, im going there on thursday for a chip and setup:)

Has anyone here had it done? What exactly gets done, and what does it achive/cost?
I think my engine needs a bit of attention soon :/
