Yes pretty simple, put the original airbox on, if the problem has been cured, then chuck your K&N in the bin (for example)!

It's probably because too much hot air is being sucked into the engine hence the poor idle, my old 1.2 16v Corsa did the same.

Im at work today so won't swap them untill tomorrow. Its only a 12v anyway!

Calm down mate, no need to get yourself worked up bout it! Just wanted to know if someone knew what was wrong or had had similiar problems!

God. It's a 5 minute job to put the airbox back on so why not do that and see what happens!

I was also told it might just be because its a 1.0 litre and only has 3 cylinders! Does anyone with a 1.0 litre find there engine shakes more than normal? The revs drop to bout 300rpm when I dip the clutch as well, like its gonna cut out! I was told that was cos of the K&N!

sounds like an engine mount :boggle:

Loosing oil or water?
Checked ur sparks?

U may have fecked the air sensor?

Well since I put it on it aint been running smoothly so its the only thing I can think of! I thought the induction kit takes in more air, meaning the mixture of petrol and air would be different to what is set up on the ECU, so the engine would be running lean? I'm not mechanically minded so correct me if Im wrong.

I don't know exactly what problems you're having but theres no way a fucking induction kit is gonna make everything shake all over the place!

They weren't bullshitting! U can tell by the way the whole engine is shakin when u lift the bonnet up! I have to admit I need to get stronger rubber mounts but I don't think it should be shaking as much as it is!

The induction kit won't cause the exhaust to shake as badly as you describe. Take it back to powerflow and tell them to stop bullshitting you.

Ever since I put my K&N Induction Kit on my 1.0 litre it aint been runnung properly! I've tried resetting my ECU by disconnecting the battery for an hour or so but nothings changed!

I've got my service and MOT on Tuesday at Vauxhall and I spoke to the bloke there but he said they won't re-tune the engine without the standard air filter on the car! The whole engine shakes causing the exhausts to vibrate badly on the rear bumper. The bloke at Powerflow said the engine wasn't running properly cos of the induction kit!

What shall I do? Shall I just take the air filter off to save me all the trouble? Or get the engine re-tuned?
