On my Astra, it cost me about £140. This price included labour, parts that were changed was the cam belt, pre-tensioner, and water pump.

Depends how confident you are.

If it happened at 36k then youve done the same miles since then at 72k when it happened. I'd start thinking about getting it done soon.

same happended to me at 36k luckily I bought the car from a dealer at only 34k so was under warranty. Cost them almost a grand. And I was without my new car for a month. I'm now comign upto 60k. Should I have it changed before 76k? If so how much before?

Pete

The idler pully that the cam belt rolls over.

Very prone to breaking causeing belt snaps

Autovaux charge £75 for the cam belt kit with new belt, tensioner and pullys, you wont find that lot any cheaper than that.

Plus fitting........

If you drive it hard seriously consider the SBD steel pullys.
