surely its cheaper to just crash :) seems mad that a £300 extra can go up to £1500 once its left the production line. same with power steering, that costs £1500 to get fitted.

sounds like the ABS is a heavily intigrated system, and if theres one part of my car that i dont want to be doing complex DIY'ing on, then its the brakes.

so it sounds like the easiest thing to do is what animality-gt said, get a GSi or even a corsa C.

My 95 SRi has it but again i think it was a factory fit extra.
Nice tho not seen many SRi's with ABS!

Yea thats right, cost me something like £300 to have it put on my car as an extra, has to be done at the factory when the car is built

My 1.6 Sport does not have ABS. I was so annoyed that when i bought it before christmas, they told me it had ABS, but i found out later on that it does not, when i managed to lock the wheels at 70mph right down to 40mph. Not good.ABS was an option on the Sports. Standard on GSi i believe.

it wud probly be cheaper but just as much hassle to transfer ur interior, ice ,body kit and engine into a car that has it already.
might sound drastic but it will be a bitch to do the abs conversion.

To add to that list , the most expensive bit, ABS modulator unit that the pipes got to where the fluid is pressurised. Its too much hassle to do it yourself and to get a garage to do it would cost you loads. If you really want to you will need to find a donor car at a breakers yard. My GSi has ABS the later sport models should have it to.

i keep meaning to do it, think there is a lot of work though, there is quite a lot you need, off the top of my head:
1. wheel sensors
2. abs rear drums
3. ecu
4. lomb

Think it will be expensive but nice if it could be done!

i was wondering if its possible to fit ABS to my corsa b ls, i noticed some corsa b models had it. is this possible, or horrificaly complicated? have had a search on the net but havnt had any clues as to how to go about this.

if it is possible would you reccomend scrounging it off of a scrapped corsa or is there a kit?
