How sure are you that the sensor you replaced was the cause of the fault? I wouldn't have thought you'd need to reset the ECU, thought they used 'learning' ECUs ie - if the problem's fixed the car recognises this and fucks the EML off. | |

If worst comes to worst I'll take it to the old garage where I used to work and remove the codes when the boss isn't around. | |

Could be someone local with the software for clearing faults? Like vagcom but for vauxhalls maybe? Save paying £40 to a dealer | |

It may clear itself once it realises theres no longer a fault there | |

Worth a try for free. Think some say 10mins, when I do it I just leave it for longer, 30mins to an hour just to make sure | |

Yeh I can do, but they'll charge. I thought U could do it by disconnecting the battery... | |

Can't you get a code reader to clear it at a garage?? If not I think it's about 30 seconds to diconnect the battery... Someone correct me if I'm wrong please | |

I've just changed my brothers engine speed sensor on his Z18XE, and as the EML was on will I need to disconnect the battery to remove the EML light? if so, how long shall I leave it for? |
