right, i now know now how 2 power both of the amps, the only bit im still confussed on is, 1. how to link the amps up together, and 2. what to do with the pre outs, cos 1 of the amps is a 4 channel and the other a 2 channel.

t44rnt yes its the red and white phono cables and if you have 4 in total that counts as 2 sets (1 red and 1 white is 1 set)

to tell u the honest truth im not 100% sure what a pre-out is. im not the clued up about stereo stuff, i only know some basic stuff. im guessing the a pre out is the wires that connect my head unit to my amp, if this is right, then i have 4 cables connecting them, 2 red and 2 white.

how have you used for pre oouts if you're only using one amp to run a sub? surely you'd be using two preouts max for this?

to have to amps running you need a power distribution block, audio splitters (depending how many pre outs your headunit has) then take the power lead into the distribution block and take 2 out other side of the block (1 to each amp) ground the amps attach to remote lead to the one amp and you can just take a lead from 1 amp to other to tell 2nd amp to turn on, connect all speakers then if you have 2 pre outs on your headunit take 1 set of RCA's to each amp but if you have a 4 channel amp you will need some audio splitters to connect all channels up then turn stereo on and get the gains set to how you like
