Glad to know that im not the only one who its happened to then. Youd think they'd put summat on the boxes though saying you need to rust-proof the metal inside?

Oh well, will teach me not to make presumptions :)

Who was complaining about problems with the paint? :boggle:

I was pissed off at the fact that the metal had rusted more than anything else.

Anyways werent having a dig at Supernovas, just pissed off that the plates inside the mirrors rusted, and thought id let others know that if there installing some aftermarket mirros, it may be wise to paint the metal plates inside them.

Oh, and they werent FK mirrors. Identical, but the box didnt say FK on it.

Rob :)

yes but thats like saying buy a BMW rather than a Corsa isnt it.

£140 a side, or £40 a set. Besides, Im not particularly struck on M3's

They fit on the car fine now, because ive sanded a few mm of the plastic on the bottom. Was just warning people, who might have took it for granted that the metal inside was galvanised, and it isnt.

Decided the otherweek id take my DTM's off and respray them, due to my first attempt not being too clever. Anyway, took them off, and removed the glass from them, and wasnt too impressed at what i saw.

The metal plate that the plastic adjuster had fixed to had started to rust :(

Didnt think about it when i bought them, becuase i assumed the metal would be galvanised :(. anyone else had similar experienses, or Did i just get a dodgy set?

P.S I was also pissed off becuase of the fit of the mirrors. The bottom of the baseplate had, unknown to me, scrapped off the paint when it was being tightened onto the car before, so now ive got a nice rust patch there
