Better still, bin the Dbilias and just get proper throttle bodies.

What about fitting a much better induction system to make sure enough air is reaching the engine, and at the right temperature. Bin the Dbilias and get Mantzel/Velos/Lexmaul kit!

This is a myth really, by disconnecting the ECU you reset it to a preset pattern and then it teaches itself so to speak and finds its optimum setting, it will find its optimum setting anyway as its doing this every time you drive it.

the air fuel mixture has to do with the fuel particles being sprayed into the block,being compressed then combusted. if u hav to much fuel going tru the injector the air/fuel mixture is to rich.think about it this way when codensation comes from the earth it forms a cloud but when to much water particles are there the water particles become to heavy and drop/rain.

taking this into mind if there is far too much fuel it could hav the same efeect of petrol rain inside ur engine and the petrol wil sink to the bottom causing a huge loss in power,efficency and economy.

u can solve the air/fuel problem mixture by reseting the ecu,this is why when peopl add an induction kit they do this as the is more air their needs to be more fuel to keep the mixture at optimom level

I suspect that 99% of impreza owners have no idea what air fuel ratio is?
Its all about money.

Too much fuel will overload the amount that should be going into the head hence why u prob got flames cos excess fuel was going out of the head. Too much fuel will in effect flood it. You need the air/fuel ratio to be right to create the perfect detination which creates the best power.

...make your car loose power? I thought the whole point of getting more power was to chuck in extra fuel, i.e with the aid of chips, cams throwing loads of fuel in, extra injectors etc..

Just a little confusion of mine. :o
