just get the 1.5td lump and drop it in much easier.

i swapped mine from 1.5td to 1.7td

You'd have to change the pistons, the head, etc. May aswell just get the lump and save yourself a shit load of hassle.

might be one to ask on migweb or vxon? theres a lot of people on there who know their stuff about these engines. Miss my 1.5td :lol:

yes I knew it'd need the inlet and turbo at minimum.

Anyone done this job before?

It's a M reg Merit if that makes any difference (possibly to chassis type)

I'd of thought it'd need the 1.5td manifold and turbo, might have different injectors or whatever... I reckon putting a 1.7td lump in would be good, my brothers mate has a mk3 cav with one in that he's put the boost up etc and that goes really well

I have a 1.5 diesel, how do I make it a 1.5td? simple answers like "put a turbo on it lol" will not be welcome.

What do I need to do the job, how hard is it to do and will it be easier to just find a 1.5TD and drop that straight in? (or even 1.7d) (which is quicker 1.5td or 1.7d? I assume 1.5td)
