Thanks again..

I think it does sit slightly higher the the lowest part of the sump and then the sump plug sticks out that extra 10mm or so..
Here is the best pic i have of the manifold in relation to the sump..

I doubt it mate, a couple of people have used the x16xe sump so I guess that will be the 'easiest' way. I have the same engine as you, and I'm down about 60mm without any issues of cathching the sump.

Does the manifold not sit lower than the sump anyway?

Ye i understand that.. was just wondering if the same could be done with an 8v sump..
wanted to see if anyone knew if it was shallower like the x18xe sump..

I just explained what you have to do? If the sump is shallower, the pick up pipe must also be shortened. I'm not sure about the 8v but I assume it will be the same if i is shallower.

The existing manifold will also hang long compared to the new sump.

Already had a custom manifold made up when i did the conversion..
thanks for the help..

Dont really want to shorten the pick up pipe though..

You can fit a x16xe sump, but you need to modify the pick up pipe by shortening it I believe. You can also then use a decent x16xe manifold rather than paying stupid prices for the 1.8 manifold...

I recently dropped the car with a set of Spax RSX coilovers.. They are Set at the highest setting at the moment..

Problem i am having is i keep catching the sump plug on things as it sits quite low compared to everything else..

Any suggestions as to how i can solve the problem?

I was thinking either i could relocate the sump plug to one of the bottom corners on the side of the sump, but the oil might not be able to drain properly like that..
Or fit a corsa sump as they should both fit since they are both small block, right?
Is the oil pick-up in the same place?

What other options do i have..

thanks in advance!
