Do not use petrol

I followed this advise to use petrol on mine. I don't know if it reacted with the glue or what, but as soon as the cloth touched the car, it turned the lacquer a milky white and will not cut out.

As said above, white spirit worked for me too. Just rub it well and the gunk will come off.
My paint was so badly damaged by the petrol, that I painted the strips and put them back on. If your gonna use petrol, try a small test area first.

Petrol will not damage the paint, as long as u wash it off and re polish the area.

Just the same as when u dip it down the side of ure car when u fill up.

Ive done my old nova and also my corsa with it and no problems.

Forget that, just white spirit and a cloth and scrub like hell. Dont forget to polish the area afterwards

Little bit on heat mate.

Hair dryer should do the job.

Or if its the sticky stuff ure having problems with then try petrol, be careful tho!
