i took the rears out on mine, and the fronts! cut back the thread!
mines lowered 40mm on 17's, and has just rubbed away the arch liner

got the wheels on now and its nowhere near on the front, doesnt rub on the back on big bumps with me plus front passenger, not too bad.
Gonna keep it like that 4 a while, might do more to rear arches later to get rear passengers in.
Thats just with debolted rear arches.

Im down 40mm, just that this single bolt at the front sticks out a bit. Might just cut it off to be safe.

I buffed mine off with a softex wheel & squeezed sillicone between the liner & the arch to stop it flapping. The bolt was gouging the shoulder of the tyre & I've only got 15's!

just noticed u have a 5 door too, as my bro said mine is lowered 60mm on 17's ( 5 door)
doesnt rub atall. had to butcher the rear archs though, there is a pic on
http://communities.msn.com/markpringle
the front has gone down there but the rear hasnt cos its sitting on the bumpstops, ive got to cut them quite a lot then it will go down at least 5cm from what it is now.

mark, the arch bolts are inside the arch liner anyway. tomas, do u have bump stops on the front?
mine doesnt rub on full lock atall, hehe

Fronts on the 5door are the same as 3door. Im lowered 65mm with 17's and uprated bumpstops on my 5door without a scrub. It Just catches the weather-guards on absoloute full-lock but no need to modify.

how much is it lowered? my bros 5dr is 60mm on 17's and the arch at the front doesnt rub, but this is with the plastic arch off. i assume if you cut the bolt off it should be ok.

YEAH DO U HAVE TO MODIFY THE FROUNT ARCHES ON A 5 DOOR TO GET 17'S ON, I KNOW U HAVE TO DO THE REAR ONES JUST WOUNDERING BOUT THE FROUNT ONES

There is one bolt that sticks out from the front archs on my car, will that catch on the tyre when i fit my 17's or is clearance from that front bolt not a problem?
It seems slightly longer than the rear arch bolts that ive taken out, maybe its worth cutting off or just removing totally.

cheers
