nothing to do with weight distribution - the rear of the car is twisted, I would have this looked at .... sounds like a scrapper to me tho :(

unless you have odd wheels or one spacer :o

it only scrapes on the right had side when only you are in the car because thats the side you sit, only ways to stop it are possibly stretched tyres, different wheels or raise it back up

get an angle grinder out and cut away at your arch :) i had to on my front or it rubbed. I cut off the metal lip on the inside of the arch then bent it out a bit and is now fine :) just put the plastic arch back on and you'd never no

How come it only rubs on the r/h rear and nowhere else?

gidged500

How come it only rubs on one side then? But not on the otherside of front?

Like I said, if you want to keep them and they don't do them in an offset closer to 49, then you'll need to have tyres stretched on. That I can't advise on because I only ever run the right size tyre

Awww man that's well bad I really liked those alloys there no way round it? It only scrubs at 1 side

Yup, affraid so. Look on the back of a wheel. Should say et37 for example. This is the offset. Perfect offset for a corsa is et49. ie proper Vauxhall wheels such as cav gsi wheels are et49. No scrapage with 195/45/15 tyres. Look in my garage, My car is all the way down on coilovers and I don't get scraping :)

gidged500

It's a multiple fit alloy :( so new alloys?

Fonz

no the wheel offset. it cant be changed.

the offset of a wheel is like the number of spokes it has or bolt/nuts it can have. you need to check you wheel's offset is arounf 40-45

gidged500

So how do I change my offset? Just new tyres?

Fonz

agree with Dave, your offset doesnt sound right, 60mm is not recmmended but is possible to go with scrubbing

then check http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to get the right size wheel/tyre combo

Daveskater

It sounds like the wheels are the wrong offset. You will need to get narrower tyres and get them stretched on.

So I have a set of 15" wolfrace octanes 195 45 15 and it's on coilovers used to be 60mm at the front and 40mm at the back the front was scraping all the time the back was fine so I raised the front and it's ok the back offside however is rubbing all the time granted I've lowered it more than 40 mm now but the nearside is the same and doesn't scrub is it the tyres that need to be thinner if so what profile ??? Help please
