nah its a nut - that if ya sit it flat - looks like a castle on the top - so when ya put the split pin in, it stops it from being able to work itself loose

undos like any normal nut, u will see :)

Actually another thing, Is a castle nut any different to a normal nut? Or is that just you using posh words for a "nut" ?

yeah pretty much

the washer and bearing withh just fall out

the drum could be hard to get off if the drum has a lip on the inside off the drums, and the shoes are behind the lip - just 'tap' the drum, while spining it and pulling

sounds simple but - remember to release the handbrake or ya will never get it off

Any more detail ?

Is it a case of taking the "castle nut" off, then everything comes out easily ?

wheel off
cover off middle of drum
split pin out
castle nut off
Thrust washer out
bearing out
drum off

Hi,

My Mate has a Corsa B, and he has a bit of trouble with one of his rear drums, so we're going to take the cover off to have a look inside, see if there is anything noticeably wrong.

How do you get the drum cover off? Do you just prise it off, or is there a bolt i have to remove on the back of it ?

Help ASAP would be appreciated cos we're gonna do it tomorrow.

Thanks guys
