yep, all engines after 1993 must have a CAT, most cars that should have CATS wouldnt pass the emmisions test without a CAT since they are stricter

Anyway, MOT states that if a car has a CAT fitted as standard, it MUST have one for the rest of its life, regardless of emissions!

What engine you got? Ive just fitted one of those ecotek things to mine.. supossedly reduces emissions by up to 90% (about another 15-20% on vauxhall ecotec engines) do you think ive got any chance with this and no cat?

Well if you get a roud side test all they will do is make you take it for a proper emissions test, so just go sort it out take it for the test and put it back.

i have no idea, but i think they are expensive, im just gonna get a de-cat pipe £55 i think from magnex, then just put the cat bk on come MOT time, and take it bk off after, its only a 5 min job

right as long as ur corsa is within EU emmissions it will pass, so u wont fail if u dont have a cat, but u will if u dont cos its the cat that keeps u under the limit

What about these "fast-cats" ive heard about? Will they still pass? Are they much better than standard?

Technically you need a cat. No Corsa will pass the emissions test without a cat anyway.

To pass your MOT to you have to have a cat or do you just have to pass the emissions test? |
