vaux told me i needed a new crank case sensor and i had incorrect idle speed, the wanted £135 and said they couldnt guarante that it would fix my strugling to start problem. I didnt get it done the fault went away on its own and that was 8 months ago!

Just got a quote from vaux for supply and fitting of crank angle sensor, £149.07!

Thats a bit more than £35+vat!

Would this be easy for me to fit myself?

the ignition coil controls the spark the spark plug gets, and has some control on the rev counter

i think you can undo it externally from the back of the block without removing the sump.

The Crank sensor will set the car into limp mode coz the ecu cant figure out where the cam is in relation to the crank and adjust timing.

If the sensor fails completely the car will not start at all, so change it before it fails alltogether.

Which means? Costs?

Just got the fault finder today, faults are:

Crank Angle Sensor: Incorrect RPM
1st Ignition (or something like that) : High Voltage

Are either of these serious? What do I need to do to sort them?
