had similar problem.......if the sounds cumin from the top of ur engine block its likely to b ur cam followers, aka tappets..

Make sure u got loads of oil in see if it helps...!

The white stuff may B oil with water on it cause if water and oil aere mixed it goes white???
But sounds like head gasket is on its way out if its getting a rattlley

Or it might be neither. It might just be Condensation from the recent shitty weather coupled to short journeys. Thats whats wrong with mine.

oh, the breather pipe could also be blocked causing the white stuff.

Hi guys, performance is fine as far as a 1.2 8v goes but last month or so its been very noisy.

sounds almost like a loose part in the engine rattling around.

fair bit of oil leakage which i put down to the sump gasket which i know needs changing.

changed the oil and filter last week thinking it would help but its not.

Now today i looked at the bottom of the oil cap and its got the infamous white milky residue on it.

any help i am guessing head gasket on its way out what should i do as i need the car on the road every day.

any suggestions appreciated.
