Id get the car on axle stands and then have a play with everything, see if there is any play anywhere. | |

It was fine, till my dad went carboot, and he said they was bump's all over the field, so am guessing he's just knocked it, and its had it, as it was pulling to the left slighty before. | |

It would cause play, knocking yes maybe if there that worn. Otherwise the knocking is prob a lose bolt. | |

If you take it off, remember to count the turns it takes to come off then wind your new one on the same amount of turns. | |

Hmmm, i'll jack it up and see if theres any play in the wheel, and i said cv joints first, but some people reckon tie rod ends. | |

sounds like that knocking noise and play in the steering could be your wheel bearings or C.V joints mate. | |

Would worn track rod ends, cause play in the steering wheel, and maybe knocking noises while under pressure? |
