the immobiliser is not reading the chip, give it a few minutes and try it again.

i was lucky i had the full car for spares just swapped the immobiliser and chip into my key

so if its this chip in the key wiv mine2! wot can i do as i hav no key 4 the engine and my key is the old type dnt think it has a chip! wot did u do and how n how much

was going to suggest that.
could of even been just the transponder in your key

turned out to be the immobiliser ,thanks for help,pity engine is knackered :(

me mates had same problem turned out to be the egr valve

the speedo wont cause that major a problem.

ive just seen someone on ere had the same prob but it was coz of the speedo not workin n wen i toed my yes2day mine wasnt wonder if i hav 2use a diff speedo cable 4 the 1.4 16v n not the old 1.2 8v 1

i once had a flashing EM light like that, what had happened with mine was I had a flat battery I had turned my car over and over a few times and it wouldnt start so I jump started my car but because i'd turned it over a few times already and its injection it was flooeded so when i jumped it, it started sounded like a bag and hammers for 5 secs cut out and the EM light was flashing. I turned the igntion off then on left it a bit then jump stated it again and had no probs. maybe its something to do with fuel or flooding or something with u?

im having the same problem ive just put a 1.4 16v engine in mine and its doin wot yors is.

i guess no one's come across this problem then ?

if it sounds that bad i wouldn't start not ever for 5 seconds u might fcuk it up even more.

anyone had this problem before ? turn on ignition and engine management light starts flashing and engine will not start,if you are quick and turn ignition to start it quick i can get the engine running for about 5 seconds then it cuts out its a 1.6 16v gsi engine,also when it does start it sounds like a bag of hammers.
