Diesel has unlimited air supply, engine speed is changed by injecting more fuel.

i have a universal pipercross on my td. its damn loud compared to how it was. thing is with diesels that cos the throttle is open all the time its a lot louder at idle whereas on a petrol u can only here it if u boot it.

How hard aren they to fit i.e can you do it yourself and is it hard and time consuming?
How much will it cost for a garage to do it?
And does it make much difference to your insurance (i am with CIS)??
