It turned out to be a faulty ignition switch :rolleyes:

Thats why I said check lambda, have heard about it doing mysterious things to ecu light, may sound silly,but you sure bulb works? uite few people make this mistake, turn ignition lights on and check

it reminds me of mopeds and scooters when they flood the carb with petrol and won't start until you leave it for a while. lol

Ive just tryed starting it and it wouldnt crank over but after 3 attempts it started:boggle:

I haven't got a clue if it's heat related,There's no engine light's on ill check all the earths and see how it goes tomorrow, runs fine too so abit unsure what it could be!

Sounds like the traditional coil problem from the old days. Might be worth trying a second hand one.

Right ok then. Its surely got to be heat related? So at a guess I would start checking fault codes if none come up try stuff like lambda sensor etc, but its a guess, I am sure someone with more knowledge would help more

Well the motor was making funy noises which it isnt doing any more,so still baffeled!

Right my girl friends gsi is having problems starting,it starts first thing in the morning but when it reachs up to temperture it wont crank over after being turned off,give it an hour os so and it will start back up. Ive changed the starter motor but still experiencing this problem. Could it be the alternator or the battery? Any veiws welcome as could do with some advise. Thanks
