You need the sensor in the following pic

There are 5 different possible combinations of sensors to go with the digi dash.... I believe the AK ones are the most popular?

1 TRANSMITTER,DISTANCE 1 90148828 12 36 262
FREQUENCY,6IMPULSES (IDENT AA)
Note: USED WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION
90148828

2 TRANSMITTER,DISTANCE HATCH 43,44 1 90149083 12 36 267
FREQUENCY,6IMPULSES (IDENT AH)
Note: USE WITH LCD INSTRUMENTS
90149083

3 TRANSMITTER,DISTANCE 1 (90149084) (12 36 268)
FREQUENCY,7IMPULSES (IDENT
AJ) (NLS.)
(90149084 )

4 TRANSMITTER,DISTANCE 20XE,C20XE 1 90149082 12 36 264
FREQUENCY,16IMPULSES (IDENT
AG) (USED WITH TRIP COMPUTER)
Note: USED WITH MANUAL TRANSMISSION
90149082

5 TRANSMITTER,DISTANCE 1 90185189 12 36 271
FREQUENCY,16IMPULSES (IDENT

basically clocks that start at 10mph are cable driven so find some of them in the scrappy. anything that starts at 0mph is electronic.

thats the ones in mine. 140mph cable driven clocks.

gsi clocks from L reg are cable driven 140mph 7k rev counter. sri clocks are cable driven 130mph 7k rev limiter clocks.

FANTASTIC! nice one fella..!

Time to start monitoring EBAY me thinks!! :)

Having a fair bit of mechanical knowledge myself, the issue that i see is that the sender would surely have to attach to the existing mechanical drive on the gearbox as that would surely be the only way of "sensing" what the speed of the gearbox is. inserting a sender in to the hole where the worm gear of the mechanical drive should be would surely not work as there would have to be some kind of way of the sender sensing the RPM's of the gearbox.
Putting a mechanical drive set of clocks in is not really an option as the mechanical drives only go up to something like 120mph and a c20xe is capeable of more like 140???
Can anyone else confirm dan-sport's statement??
thanks again
dave

my mech clocks go to 140. 20xe will do 137 on limiter on 15" wheels.

Mine used a digi dash transducer. Was running a c20xe with F16 gearbox and electric clocks.

or use a digi dash transducer from an astra gte and figure the wiring out, i just changed the clocks

just get a set of cable clocks and put a cable in. putting a sensor off a 1.0 will not work

thats really helpful.. thanks very much for your help!! :o)

mines out of a 1.0 12v. you can use the one out of any 1.2 8v and 1.0 12v p reg onwards but you just need to get the actual plug off the car aswell and put it on yours

The dealer should be able to help you. Think its a sender from any cars that had a digi dish. If they can't find it on they're system they should be fired

Edit :this doesnt help you much

Hi all,

I have just bought a corsa with a c20xe conversion with an F20 gearbox.

the current owner has told me that the speedo doesnt work due to the f20 being mechanical drive and the clocks being electronic.

The searches i have done on this forum and others have told me that i need a sender from a C14SE engine which is great.... but that is the ENGINE type.. not the gearbox type...

I have no problem purchasing a NEW sender from vaux, does anyone know the PART NUMBER for the correct sender for the F20 box?

Thanks for your help

Dave
