Should be able to look underneath and see yourself

ok, thanks for the advice. I will get a mechanic to check for loose heat shields.

If you had the full system replaced then Nothing inside it should be rattling

They could have knocked a heat sheild tho

Just baffles me as it was fine before I had the exhaust replaced. What would come with the exhaust if it was replaced? does heat shields and cats come with the system. Sorry I don't know too much about this sort of thing

Theres 3, one above the back box, one above middle box and one above the cat.

altho I expect that its the baffles that have come loose in one of the boxes or cat.

Ahhhh I only had a quick scan and didnt see that

Heat sheilds are metal plates above the exhaust pipes

Scottyp1989 did mention that, what is a heat sheild and where is it located?

am4nf

Could be a loose heat sheild

David24

its not the kind of rattling of something moving around. Just sounds like something is rubbing or hitting against something

scottyp1989

posted on 16th Dec 09 at 14:49

you wont feel if its gone, the stuff inside the cat breaks up and rattles around

David24

When I feel the exhaust it feels solid and doesn't feel loose so it must be something beyond that then. Or even the manifold?

scottyp1989

posted on 16th Dec 09 at 14:46

ye could be, thats the usual cause anyway unless theres a loose heatshield

davcohen

should be under warranty?

David24

Cat? it was ok when I bought it but the one that was on there blew so had it replaced and has been rattling since. Still think it could be the cat?

scottyp1989

chuffed cat more than likely, stuff inside is rattling around

My Corsa sport was fitted with a factory standard sport exhaust box at a garage but it rattles when it warms up. I have taken it back to the garage but they can't seem to fix the problem. Does anyone have any ideas why it rattles when warmed up or has any experienced this before?
